Our Application process
If I don't meet your minimum academic requirements - will I be rejected automatically?
Our minimum academic requirements have been assessed as a guide to how well trainees can cope with the demands of professional exams and training. This means they are very important in the selection process.
I have already left school - can I still apply to the School Leaver training scheme?
Yes, we welcome all applications whether you are still at school or left.
Can I apply if I am a part-qualified accountant?
Yes; however, please bear in mind you must have passed each exam first time in order to be considered. In addition if you have had any relevant previous employment experience you may need to be considered through the experienced hire route.
Will I be able to highlight any extenuating circumstances that could affect my application?
If you would like us to consider your extenuating circumstances that have affected your academic results, please highlight this in the relevant section on the application form. Please also note - if you have a valid reason for not being able to use the online application, we will be happy to consider this.
Are there any application deadlines?
No, we recruit throughout the year until all our vacancies are filled. Please note we have September and December intakes and positions fill up fast, so we recommend that you apply early to avoid disappointment. Our vacancies open in the first week of September every year.
Am I allowed to apply to more than one programme or office location?
We ask candidates to apply to the programme and office location that interests them most and will be committed towards developing their careers in this area. Therefore, you will only be allowed to apply to one programme per year. Although you will be given the option to enter a second preference office location in the event your primary choice is no longer available.
What time of year do your programmes start?
We have two main intakes for Graduates and School Leavers – September and December (please note that not all offices have both intakes). This ties in with the start of the professional qualification course start dates. However, if you are available and there is space in the team, you may be able to start earlier than this and work until your college course commences in September/December. Each role on our website will say which intake you will belong to.
If I am unsuccessful at any stage of the recruitment process, when can I reapply?
We ask candidates who are unsuccessful at a video interview or assessment day to wait 6 months before applying again. Please note that this is 6 months from the date you were informed that you were unsuccessful.
I have not sat A Levels, but I have done equivalent UK qualifications can I still apply?
Yes, however please be aware they need to be the equivalent 3 A Levels at grades A*- C, excluding General Studies and Extended Projects. In addition A*- C at GCSE in Maths & English Language.
I completed my studies outside of the UK, how can I tell if I am eligible to make an application?
Yes, international qualifications can be verified using NARIC which students will have to purchase.
If I am invited to complete the online ability tests, how can I prepare for these?
